E 'an event.
I listened to ... I mean The Day That Never Comes , the first from the new album of Metallica , in stores (and iTunes) from September 12. The album title has been known for weeks, days and even the tracklist. Death Magnetic contains ten songs, for a total of 75 minutes and already the cover portends a return to the past, the band's name in old-style graphics, '80s, when Metallica were "The Four Horsemen", the knights of Thrash Metal , light years away from the mushy experiments Load and Reload, St. Anger and the immense crap.
must have been the change of guard in the production, by Bob Rock, Rick Rubin in , which veered toward old sounds and a style more "thrash."
fact is that I, as a good old 80's style Metallica fan, I feared, the news of a new album, Hetfield and his associates were being definitively "autoseppellendo" that Metallica had closed the latest chapter of a dying genre, under the blows of the nu metal and fake punkettoni. Instead, I noticed with pleasure, that Mr. Kirk Hammet has not forgotten how to play an electric guitar. For the rest I can not tell if this first single is the best episode of the album ... I hope not.
